Sneaky Veggies

Let's face it, most toddlers don't love vegetables. Sometimes we have to be sneaky to get our toddlers to eat veggies. Here are a few ways.

1. Grate yellow squash and add it in with scrambled eggs. If you really pay attention, it changes the texture slightly, so don't let your toddler see you putting it in there!

2. When making your own chicken nuggets or strips, add carrot puree into the egg mixture before you bread and bake it.

3. When you go out, only bring raw veggies with you for a snack. If it's all that's available, most likely that's what they will eat!

Do you have any other really easy ways to add veggies in to toddler's food?

  1. I didn't get into the sneaky veggies until my kids were older and a friend told me she makes 'garbage soup.' Just takes all the leftovers out of the fridge and makes it into a soup. I used her idea, but instead of making soup, I just put all the leftover veggies in the blender and stirred them into my spaghetti sauce or used them in my meatloaf.

  2. I shred carrots a zuchinni into spaghetti sauce-since W loves spaghetti he always eats it! Also when making pizza if you put veggie toppings UNDER the cheese they are better obscured..and chop them up really well! Mushrooms look like chicken in little chunks (to little eyes!). Soup with lots of rice and chicken are a good place to hide veg too!
